Developed for the inauguration of the Sabarmati Riverfront event ground in Ahmedabad, this bespoke bamboo installation explores the relationship between light, suspension, and perception.
Each hollow bamboo pole is hand-perforated to allow light to escape through hundreds of tiny openings, casting intricate patterns across the surrounding surfaces. Suspended on near-invisible cables, the illuminated forms appear to hover in space, making the source of both the light and the structure seem almost immaterial.
The installation was conceived as an exercise in reduction—using bamboo, light, and a single line of suspension to create an experience that unfolds gradually, inviting visitors to look a little closer.
