Commissioned for the inauguration of the Sabarmati Riverfront event ground in Ahmedabad, this bespoke kinetic lighting installation transforms bamboo into an abstract study of birds in flight.
Each handcrafted bamboo element is subtly chamfered and illuminated, suggesting the silhouette of a bird without describing it literally. Suspended in a carefully balanced composition, every individual piece responds to the movement of the wind, creating a constantly shifting flock that animates the sky above.
Developed as both sculpture and light, the installation continues Rhizome's exploration of kinetics as a design language, where movement is not an effect added to an object, but an integral part of its form.
