This 8 seater dining table in brass and reclaimed teak wood is handcrafted traditionally, in a contemporary architectural form. Traditionally, utilitarian brass vessels used in Indian homes were handcrafted by a craft-community called the Thatheras. This craft is dying because these beautiful brass vessels have become redundant over time. We worked with the few craftspeople still practicing the craft to develop this collection. Our intention was to preserve and revivie the craft and its legacy, by re-envisioning the skills in new forms, as furniture. The brass components in this collection are handcrafted. The wooden tops are also handcrafted from reclaimed teak from demolished traditional Pol houses in Gujarat. Each teak top is seasoned and aged, and has a beautiful grain pattern.

CARE & REPAIR

Strictly for indoor use only. Avoid direct heat or sunlight exposure. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents. Clean with a moist towel and dry promptly. Teak wood may warp or develop cracks because of its inherent water content. These are normal indicators of aging of authentic wood. While using the table, use an appropriate table runner/mat. If there is a spill, dry wipe it with a clean cloth.
