The Yaali Chair draws from its namesake—the mythical composite guardian found in South Indian temple architecture, symbolising strength and protection. The seat is defined by a bold, oculus-like form, hand-tufted in silk to create depth and softness. Its pièce de résistance is the backrest: a field of brass scales, each finished in varying levels of oxidation, coming together to form a fluid, tactile surface. A small silk headrest completes the piece, balancing its sculptural intensity with an underlying modernist form.
