The Thali Light reinterprets the ubiquitous elements of the Indian thali, layering them into a postmodern, hand-beaten brass composition. Each individual form is articulated and spotlighted, while simultaneously contributing to a larger, unified whole. Both sculptural and referential, the piece reflects on what contemporary Indian design can and should draw from—transforming the familiar into a points of departure for today.
