  • The hardware was designed to be easy to produce, from simple to source materials including bamboo, shell and metal.

  • Rhizome oversaw and coordinated the fabrication of the final prototypes of the hardware, as well as the jute bags which would showcase the hardware. The designs were based on market research, and an overall strategy whereby the hardware created would complement jute as a material, both in terms of aesthetics, and also in terms of strengthening its eco-friendly and sustainable image.

  • Rhizome conducted skill and capacity building workshops and created a Do-it-yourself manual to create a transfer mechanism of the technologies and products developed to the beneficiaries linked to National Jute Board.
