We have remodelled the store for Kamala foundation in collaboration with ERA at Manav Sadhna,an NGO based in the Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram, Ahmedabad- dedicated to the up-liftment of the underprivileged through love.
Enhanced by the monotone of natural materials like bamboo and handmade paper balancing with yellow on walls and pops of blue has transformed the space, suitably highlighting the products.
The plywood reception table and old chest of drawers were laminated in handmade paper.
The sleek bamboo handles with sliced edge detail is added, to give a modern twist to the overall cabinet.
The hand-made paper have been sourced from Kalam kush paper enterprise. The factory transforms scraps of waste cotton into paper, which was one of the cottage industries introduced by Gandhi. No chemicals are used in the process.
Custom-developed bamboo frames to showcase handmade paper cards. Our iconic lighting installation made with bamboo pipes provides perfect lighting solution in this retail space.
From handle detail to lighting solution, mirror to cabinets, we have used the most simplest and honest material, which is bamboo. Most of the materials used for the renovation have been re-purposed. We love up cycling materials, as they not only add quality and reduce costs, but also maintain the true character of the space while minimising waste.
