Woods at Sasan
Rhizome was entrusted with creating interior elements for the Woods at Sasan resort. With bamboo, brass, and terracotta as our canvas, we collaborated closely with the resort to bring their vision to life. This resulted in a harmonious fusion of nature and luxury, with a contemporary vernacular articulation.

Bamboo cradle design for Barakat Bundle
Rhizome took on a project for Barakat Bundle, a non-profit supported by Harvard's incubator program, focusing on infant and maternal health in South Asia. As a result of the project, we designed a folding bamboo cradle and sensory toy for base-of-the-pyramid infants, earning significant recognition and accolades.

Humble pen: Design and Branding of a bamboo pen
The project brief was to design a handcrafted bamboo pen, and the branding for Humble Pen, including logo, stationery and packaging. Rhizome designed these pens from bamboo using technologies that allowed for the maximization of livelihoods for bamboo producers.

Products made from Sea-grass Mat Production Waste

Spa Accessories Inspired by Traditional Fish-Traps
The Development Commissioner of Handicrafts commissioned Rhizome to design spa and wellness products in bamboo. This new product line would be produced by the Charilam cluster in Tripura. The fish trap-making skills of the trainees were taken as a starting point for this collection.

Imprint Paper Products
This project aimed to empower young girls from an Ahmedabad slum by creating innovative paper products. Through a collaborative design process and very basic skill training, the girls became co-creators, making production enjoyable and promoting learning.

Jute Bag Hardware
Rhizome did this project for the Jute Manufactures Development Council. This project involved designing a range of innovative hardware and accessories for jute bags. Using bamboo, shell, and metal, the hardware was not only easy to produce but also highlighted the eco-friendly nature of jute.
